Tantus Super Soft Cock Ring

I’ve been wanting to try the Super Soft Cock Ring from Tantus for awhile and recently got to. I am a lover of cock rings, especially stretchy ones.

Years ago, I had a freak accident with a solid metal ring (too tight, broken blood vessel, spurting bloody cum, yikes), so I’ve shied away from that type ever since. The drawback to the solid rings is they are difficult – if not impossible – to remove once your cock is erect. This can lead to an uncomfortably hard erection, chafing, painful swelling, and (apparently) broken blood vessels in your cock and/or balls area. I know a lot of guys love them and use them without problems, and I’ve only had the one issue, in spite of using solid rings off and on for years. But sometimes it only takes one problem (bright red semen, anyone?) to make a change.

The benefit to stretchy rings is the ability to render them temporarily larger so you can stuff your cock and balls through, and then having it snap back to a tighter size once it’s in place. Some rings – even though they are made of a softer, flexible material – don’t really stretch all that much, so you’re still left to wrestle with the damn thing. My balls – specifically the right one – tend to run and hide whenever they sense a cock ring struggle, and there’s nothing more frustrating than trying to slip your nuts through a tight ring and having one jerk itself out of reach. Because I suffer from this problem, my cock rings of choice are two fairly stretchy ones: The Ring-O from Screaming O, which has the added benefit of being extremely affordable, and the TitanMen Cock Ring, which has the added benefit of being pretty thick; once in place, it’ll shove your nuts forward. That’s right, a push-up bra for your balls! The downside to the Ring-O is how small and tight it is. While this makes for some firm erections, it isn’t the most comfortable ring for long-term sex or masturbation sessions. The downside to the TitanMen ring is a vertical seam that runs down the side of the ring. It’s discreet enough not to interfere with the appearance, but it will – over time – cause the material to tear. And a torn cock ring has no useful purpose.

Because I like the two aforementioned rings, I’ve had my eye on the Super Soft Cock Ring from Tantus ever since I saw it. What appealed to me about Tantus’ silicone ring is that it was small, but had a larger “at rest” size than the very tight Ring-O. And while not as wide as the TitanMen ring, the Tantus ring was still fairly wide for a soft cock ring. And happily, there are no visible seams left over from the molding process.

As far as application goes, I found it surprisingly difficult to stretch the Super Soft ring enough to work my flaccid penis and both balls through before allowing the ring to tighten back up. Since it was my first use, I was probably hesitant to “overstretch” the ring for fear of tearing it, and of course my uncooperative right nut yanked itself out of the picture. I gave up on that first attempt, at least until both balls were back in action.

Once my testicles were cooperating, I actually used a Ring-O as a makeshift ball stretcher (or in this case, “ball cuff”), to keep my nuts from escaping. Once I had them locked into place, I was able to put on the ring with little problem. I wish the thing had a little more stretch to it, but I know this is always a compromise, because a more flexible material always leaves you wishing the ring was a little tighter when it’s in place. Still, once I figured out how to wrangle my balls, the Tantus ring went on fairly easy, and was a nice tight fit, comparable with my other two favorite cock rings.

The soft silicone material made this ring pretty comfortable for the duration of a long (thirty minute) test session, but I did notice some discomfort in the area when I went to remove it, but not so bad I haven’t used the ring a few more times. Because it’s made of a premium silicone material, the ring has held its shape perfectly, and shows no signs of wear or tearing. I did notice a slight odor to the ring, which surprised me, since Tantus’ other silicone toys have no discernible scent. This is a slight talc odor, which hasn’t dissipated with repeated washings with soap and water. But it’s not unpleasant, so it’s not really an issue for me.

I’d probably recommend the Tantus Super Soft Cock Ring for anyone looking for a fairly easy on/easy off ring that offers a tight grip. If you have low hanging balls, a thick shaft (even flaccid), and/or nuts that like to roam, you might experience some difficulty while applying the ring to your cock and balls. If you are looking for a ring to wear for super-long sessions, this might not be the best choice if it is a tight fit for you (as it was for me), but for use during a ten or fifteen minute masturbation session or a quick bout of sex, it’s a great addition to any cock ring arsenal. And the colors (solid black, deep purple, or bright red – which is my personal favorite of the three), are pretty nice too! I’d score this one 4 out of 5.

You can purchase the silicone Super Soft Cock Ring directly from Tantus, or from one of these online stores I recommend:

UPDATES: In 2014, I had this to add: “After using this ring for nearly a year, I can’t get enough of it. It’s held up great and I no longer worry that I’m going to tear it when I pull it on or off. It’s become my favorite, and I’m upgrading my rating to 5 out of 5.” — As I update this review (yet again) almost 7 years after writing the original, I can say this Tantus Super Soft cock ring is still my favorite. In fact, I had it wrapped around my cock and balls last night! And it looks and feels just as new as it did when I first used it back in 2013.
