Jett Penis Vibrator from Hot Octopuss

Hot Octopuss is the company behind one of my all-time favorite penis vibrators: The Pulse. They’ve put the Pulse through three different incarnations and have since added new vibrating toys to their product line: the Pocket Pulse – a mini version of the popular Pulse – and the Atom, a vibrating cock ring. The latest in the Hot Octopuss line is The Jett, billed as a “penis vibrator.” Today we’re going to take a look at it.

Peepshow Toys stocks all of the Hot Octopuss line and asked if I’d do a review of the newest addition. When I saw a photo of the Jett, it looked like some kind of like an airplane, dual engines strapped to the underside of a cock head. When I saw the actual product, it was a little different than I envisioned it to be. In reality, the Jett is a three-hole silicone ring designed to fit around the head of the penis and hold a set of vibrating eggs. Guys have been strapping vibrating eggs to the underside of their dicks since the beginning of time, or at least since the beginning of Xtube, which is where I first noticed videos of guys popping off as the eggs merrily hummed away against their frenulum. Back in 2015, I was contacted by SteveOhToys, who had devised a set of 4 different sized polyvinyl rings that he was packaging with a set of double vibrating eggs. No more hairbands or trying to hold two quivering eggs with a skinny rubber cock ring! I enjoyed that set (read my review). Hot Octopuss has come up with a similar kit, only their holster is made of body-friendly silicone, which will typically last longer than other materials and has no weird odors (which typically arise from weird chemicals). The Jett also features a double egg vibrator, with remote control that operates the vibes and the various patterns. Let’s take a look at each component.

The head ring, as I said, is made of silicone. Three completely enclosed rings molded together honeycomb style, which means the bullets are kept separate from each other and also can’t come in direct contact with the cock itself. The larger of the three holes is designed to wrap around the head and shaft of the cock. In its unstretched state, the opening runs about an inch and a quarter in diameter and can easily be stretched to accommodate even large glans and/or thick shafts. I found it easier to insert the pair of bullets before pushing the larger opening over the head of the cock. If it’s frenulum stimulation you’re after – and the Jett is designed primarily for that exact purpose – stretch the ring open and pull it down over the glans of your penis. Let the back end of the ring (the portion closest to the bullets) come to rest just under the head of your cock. Your frenulum is the very sensitive area just under the head on the underside of your cock’s shaft. Once you have the band wrapped around the upper part of your shaft, you can adjust it fairly easily so that the vibrations come in contact with just the right spot. As with any vibrating toy that can be used for frenulum stimulation, the Jett’s bullets can be re-positioned as desired, since even a slight adjustment can make a huge difference in the way it feels.

The Jett: Put Together & Ready for Lift-Off

The bullets are plastic and run about 2.5 inches in length, so they’re pretty good size as vibrating bullets go. These get wedged into the two smaller round holes on the ring. You can actually push them in from the top, or come up from the bottom, depending on which way you want the cables to protrude. I found the cords on the bullets aren’t as long as I’d like, which means they get tugged sharply when you’re trying to move the controller around during use. Once you get the hang of things, I guess you can just rest the controller on your leg or next to you, but it would be nice if the cables ran a little bit longer for the times you want to pick up the controller and move it around with a little more freedom.

The controller box runs off 4 AA batteries (not included), so make sure you have enough fresh ones on hand before you sit down for your first session. Lately, it seems like every vibrating toy I test out has internal batteries that can easily be recharged again and again, so it seems a little strange to be using a toy that needs batteries to run. I guess in keeping with the lower price point (compared with the higher end Hot Octopuss toys), they decided to go the old school route. If you decide you’re going to be using your own Jett on a regular basis, I’d suggest picking up an 8-pack of rechargeable batteries with a plug-in charger, that way you can cut down on battery costs by reusing them and always having four back ups ready to go. One of my favorite prostate massagers – the Get a Grip – uses regular batteries, so I was glad to pick up a charger and extra batteries so I can use the toy whenever the mood strikes.

Once the batteries are in place, slide the two metal prongs into the set of jacks at the top of the controller. Hot Octopuss has included two different bullets: one of them has deep rumbly vibrations, while the other features a more high frequency vibe, which is lighter and less powerful than its counterpart. This turned out to be a cool feature, because sometimes you want to tease that sweet spot with a lighter touch, and other times you want to really feel some deep intense vibrations instead. I’m sure everyone with a frenulum is different, but I find that one side of mine is more sensitive to stimulation, so by putting the “Treble” (higher frequency) bullet on this side of the ring, I am able to delight the more sensitive side with light teasing, and then switch to the “Bass” (lower frequency) bullet, which is strong enough to stimulate both sides of my frenulum. Since the bullets are interchangeable, you can easily pop them out and switch them, just to see how differently it feels.

Like most vibrating bullets, this set comes equipped with a bunch of different steady vibes (low to high), and assorted vibrating patterns. Each bullet is controlled separately (to a point) with a + or – button under each of the corresponding jacks. Press and hold either + button to activate that particular bullet. Each one starts on the lowest steady vibration and subsequent clicks of the + button will increase the speed and intensity of that steady vibration. Use the – button to return that bullet to a lower speed. Need to halt the vibrations because they’re getting too intense or because you’re getting close to climax? Press and hold the – button until that bullet stops running. Since each bullet is separate from the other, you can change the intensity of one while keeping the other at a different level. Prefer a more intense buzz on the lighter Treble bullet? Crank that up to max while keeping the rumbly Bass bullet at one of the lower levels. You can also fiddle around and keep one bullet running while the other gives your frenulum a break. Then switch sides and run the other bullet for awhile.

The vibrating patterns are the same for either bullet and they’re controlled with the single round silver button positioned under the +/- buttons. This means whichever bullets are running (single side or both) will jump into the vibrating pattern you select, and they are synchronized so that each pulse or pause is identical when you’re running both bullets at once . There are nine patterns in total, just click that little round button to cycle through them. Need to return to the steady vibes? Click the button a tenth time and the bullet(s) will vibrate steadily again.

The Jett: Put Together & Ready for Lift-Off

So how does the Jett perform? The bullets are decent enough, certainly comparable to any other battery-operated vibrating bullets that I’ve used in the past. Are these bullets as good as the vibrations that Hot Octopuss’s signature sex toy — The Pulse — delivers? Not even close. Of course, The Pulse vibrator is priced $50USD higher than the Jett. Even the smaller Pocket Pulse (not as good as the larger original, in my opinion) is $15USD more than the Jett. But still, $70USD is pretty steep for a set of plastic battery-operated bullets and a single silicone ring. My recommendation is to save up and splurge on the pricier Pulse, but I know a lot of people love the distinctive stimulation and tingles they can get from a vibrating bullet(s) teasing the frenulum, and the Jett certainly does deliver that. The use of a ring or other gadget as a holster to hold and keep the bullets in a desired spot is a great thing too, and allows the user to enjoy the bullets in a hands-free session. There’s nothing quite so mind-blowing as being brought to orgasm without your hands touching your cock.

One thing that I noticed with the Jett’s ring that was different in the set I tried from SteveOhToys is that the all three rings are enclosed circles, which means the bullets don’t come in direct contact with the cock. SteveOh’s design is more open, which allows the bullets to actually press directly into the frenulum. Users who want even more stimulation might appreciate this, but – on the other hand – if direct vibrations are a little too intense, that extra layer of silicone in the Jett’s ring might be more welcome.

Another thing I tried with the Jett was inserting the bullets into their holes but sliding two fingers into the cock opening, and using the Jett as a handheld vibrating. Enough of the vibes radiate from the back of the rings to bring just as much stimulation as using the toy in the way it was intended. This allows you to tease more than just the frenulum and pull the bullets away from your erogenous zones as needed. Using the Jett as a handheld massager makes it more fun as a partner toy, too, although you can certainly have a wild time strapping the ring to your playmate’s penis and taking control with the buttons. Frenulum play among friends can be a blast (literally!).
